DISCOVERING OASIS

DISCOVERING OASIS

There is something satisfying about discovering new products that are homegrown. I recently attended the launch of a new BB Cream from the New Zealand company Oasis Beauty, a brand that was founded by Stephanie Evans & has now been going for 15 years.

The girls from Oasis are passionate & enthusiastic about their products- something that always impresses me! I was thrilled to learn how all their lotions & potions are crafted in the South Island of New Zealand & are as natural as they come.  The latest development from Oasis is their new BB Cream, a multi purpose product which acts as a daily moisturizer, mineral foundation, anti-aging treatment & sunscreen (SPF25). I have experimented with this BB & found that is has an excellent coverage with a slightly powdery finish, so its a brilliant makeup to use when you are in a hurry & need to apply one product to do three jobs (one of the main reasons BB cream has become so popular!) It comes in three colours, but I have found the Caramel Tint to be the best all round tone for most NZ skins.

I was also introduced to one of Oasis’s most enduring products, a cream with the unglamorous name; Rhino Repair. This rich & creamy moisturizer does a number of things, namely bringing back moisture into really dry & stressed skin (hence the Rhino reference!). It soothes chapped, eczema prone skin, acts as a post shaving balm, can be used as sunburn relief or as a nappy rash cream. I think its a particularly good rich facial moisturizer for men who dont have time to get fussy with skincare, as well as being a brilliant treatment for dry hands & feet. I recommend you keep a pot handy for the whole family to use!

Oasis also do a fantastic sunscreen which is one of their best selling products. Oasis Sun is a 30+ UVA/UVB face & body sunscreen that has a non greasy feel along with a non-whitening finish. It has no parabens & is brilliant for sensitive skin that tends to react to the chemicals in sunscreen. I tried it on my face recently & it caused no reaction on my sensitive skin, so thats a great sign. Its perfect for children too- just take care to reapply every few hours as no sunscreen lasts all day. Thanks Oasis!!

Oasis BB Cream RRP $49.95

  1. Sounds like a great brand…

  2. Sounds like a great brand thanks Nikki. Love natural skincare, and being NZ made makes it all the more appealing. Where is it stocked?

  3. Hi Marnie, if you go to their website (the link is in the highlighted Oasis in my blog) you can buy online, plus they have a list of stockists on their site. I know for sure they are at Hardys Healthy Living in 277 & most other Westfields x
