BOBBI BROWN GOES OLD HOLLYWOOD

Old Hollywood style never goes out of fashion & you only have to glance at the red carpet these days to see it reinvented time & time again. Uma Thurman, Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman & Charlize Theron are just a few of the modern day stars that love to embrace this classic theme for red carpet events. This Christmas season Bobbi Brown reminds us how easy it is to achieve this timeless look with a gorgeous array of makeup that celebrates the glitz & glamour of Hollywood at its best.

As you all know Im a big fan of Bobbis makeup- I think its very hard to go wrong when purchasing her products as they really are designed for the everyday woman. This limited edition Old Hollywood Collection that is coming out especially for the gift giving season, contains all the Bobbi products I love to recommend….. because they really do work!

  • The fabulous High Shimmer lipglosses that I use all the time are reinvented in three gorgeous new shimmery shades called Rose, Candlelight & Pure Gold. They are $50 each & last for months.
  •  Bobbis awesome Ink Liner ($54) has an improved formula that makes it blacker than ever, with a fine precision brush that makes that liquid line glide on so easily.   If you have trouble drawing the perfect line you must visit my popular blog How to apply Liquid Eyeliner
  • If red lips are your style, then you must try Bobbis newest deep red lipstick, suitably named Old Hollywood- perfect to offset that liquid eyeliner!
  • There is a brand new range of fun & festive nail polishes to choose from that contain two glittery shades that I love called Chrome & Solid Gold, as well as the classic Siren Red & Tuxedo black – all $35 each.
  • Then there is what I consider the best value within this range & its the Old Hollywood Eye palette. Just one eye shadow from a good brand can cost up to $35 dollars, so purchasing a palette that has a good range of neutral colours is always a wise investment. This new palette has nine shades within a gorgeous slimline compact containing a handy matte white, a deep black, a neutral taupe, a sparkly gold, a mid toned charcoal, a burnished copper & a sultry bronze. Use just one or two colours, such as the gold & the taupe for a simple day makeup, or create glamorous Hollywood eyes with all those deep smokey shades. This compact is limited & it costs $165 (what a dream Christmas present!)

HOT TIP- I have personally been getting loads of use out of the Long Wear cream Shadow Stick in ’24 Karat ($54) It has the consistency of a creamy crayon which makes it so easy to use. For an easy party look simply draw a line of shadow stick along your lashline & smudge lightly with your fingertip. This adds a instant flash of metallic gold to your eyelids that brightens up your whole face. For extra intensity layer some gold or bronze eye shadow over the top of the crayon line to create a light reflective shiny finish. Add lashings of black mascara, burnish your cheeks with some Nude Glow Shimmer Brick & finish the look with classic red lips. A fresh & modern take on Old Hollywood glamour.
