Anyone that suffers from dry hair will tell you that high summer is the worst time of the year to have this affliction! Heat, salt water, humidty… all these things combined make naturally dry hair even more frizzy & brittle, lacking shine & condition. During the summer my naturally thick curly hair requires bucket loads of the richest conditioners I can find to keep it soft (& stop it looking like straw!) After three years of constant Kerastrait treatments I have now decided to go back to what comes naturally for me (curls, curls & more curls) but that means that Im back to loading on the conditioners & treatments to keep my hair looking good.

I try all sorts of products & I keep going back to my old favorite brands which are Paul Mitchell & Redken, but Im happy to say that this summer my new discovery for dry hair is the Wella Professionals Enrich range.

I have been really enjoying the Enrich Moisturizing Shampoo, which repairs & protects the hair without stripping it of oils like some rich shampoos do; It just makes my hair feel clean & ready for a good dose of conditioner!

The Enrich Moisturizing Conditioner feels as intense as a hair treatment or masque, as its super creamy in consistency. So how do you make sure your conditioner is used properly? Ill tell you… For my thick medium length mop I apply at least a palm full of conditioner onto my hair which has been squeeze dried (if its too dripping wet all the conditioner runs off!) & I work it from the roots to the ends with my fingers. If you have an oily scalp its best to avoid this area & start an inch or so from the roots. My secret is to then comb the conditioner through, getting rid of all the tangles on the way, then leave it on for at least three minutes to work its magic. Rinse out after you have left it on for as long as possible (depending on the length of your shower!)

If Im not blow waving my hair I need a leave-in product to add even more moisture & to control the curls. Enrich Bouncy Foam is really brilliant for this job, as the lightweight consistency of the foam leaves my hair feeling light & conditioned, with just enough hold to stop the frizzies (see a recent shot of me below with my hair curly & moisturized!). All three products work really well together & come at a really reasonable price- which I love as I go through more conditioner than any other product!

The Enrich Moisturizing range is available from salons; Shampoo, Conditioner & Foam are all $27. Love it!
