OSMOSIS LOVE

I am a big fan of Osmosis mineral makeup & absolutely swear by their Mineral pressed base.

Over the past few years, as mineral makeup has slowly taken over the beauty counters, I have tried many different brands of mineral powder. To say they vary would be a grand understatement! Through experience I have learned that the more pure the mineral powder is, the better the results. So how do you tell if a mineral powder is pure? Just look at the list of ingredients & if its starts with names like Mica, Zinc & various other non-pronouncable mineral compounds, then you know you have a good product. If you see the ingredient ‘Talc’, then you know its just an ordinary powder with a few minerals thrown in. A product like this will give you a normal ‘powdery’ finish, whereas a pure mineral base will melt into the skin creating an incredibly smooth, satiny coverage.

Osmosis Mineral pressed base is a pure as they come, with a super fine, triple milled texture. You could say this is mineral powder at its finest- literally! I tend to prefer the pressed mineral bases as they are easier to use than the loose powders & make less mess- plus you can throw a compact into your purse more easily than you can a pot of powder (if it spills watch out!)

I have the entire colour range of Osmosis bases in my kit & there is a shade for every skin tone from the darkest of olive skin through to the palest alabaster. What I love about these bases is that I can apply them with speed- all you need is a fluffy kabuki style brush. Simply sweep your brush over the pressed powder & apply it to the skin with circular movements. If you need more coverage on skin that has blemishes or pigmentation, simply add more powder, as minerals have a buildable texture. In fact the coverage is so good that I used Osmosis base over the top of concealer to hide a tattoo last week & it worked perfectly. I also used Osmosis base on my model Georgette in the photo above & how good does her skin look?!

Mineral powder likes to be applied onto a well moisturized skin, as this tends to activate the powder & create the creamy texture. You can use mineral powder directly over your favorite tinted moisturizer, BB Cream, CC Cream or else you can try the brilliant Osmosis Sheer Tint Primer which creates a lovely dewy finish. If you use a liquid foundation, then you can apply a mineral powder over the top of this to create a matt, long lasting finish. This is something I do often for TV shoots as it makes the skin look absolutely flawless.

  1. I have been using Osmosis mineral powder and the difference it has made to the appearance of my skin is amazing. It gives your face a healthy glow without the thick coverage of some makeup – Thanks !!!!!!!!

  2. Thanks for this great feedback Anna. Osmosis Colour gives you the best of both worlds, great coverage with a natural finish. Glad you are enjoying it x

  3. What color of Osmosis mineral powder are you using?

  4. My shade is Golden Medium. The colours are very yellow based so they always add warmth & look very natural.
