NEW FROM ELIZABETH ARDEN
Im a sucker for packaging & Elizabeth Ardens new Summer Escape makeup collection comes in the prettiest packs ever! Inspired by the alluring colours of the ocean, the Summer Escape range has a nautical influence focusing on classic navy & gold, with hints of coral & baby blue. The makeup inside these gorgeous packs follows the theme, capturing a mix of sandy neutrals & vivid maritime shades, creating an easy to wear makeup collection for the new season.
The star of the range has to be the Pure Finish Summer Escape Bronzing powder. This bronzer is actually baked mineral powder with key ingredients that include Green tea extract, Mica minerals & various antioxidants. The texture is incredibly fine with a very subtle shimmer & it comes in two shades; Warm glow 01 (perfect for fair skin) & Deep glow 02 (for a more olive complexion). The handy sized compact is nautical navy blue & gold plus you also get a kabuki brush for easy application- RRP$69
When it comes to eye makeup, if brushes & blending is not your thing then a Cream eyeshadows is an awesome alternative. The Pure Finish Cream Eyeshadows in this range have a lovely light texture, making them super easy to apply directly to your eyelid with your fingertip. They glide on smoothly & are long lasting- plus they are also enriched with Vitamin E & Aloe, which both help to sooth & protect the eye area. ‘Sand Dollar’ is a soft peachy coral shimmer, ‘Anchors Away’ is a metallic bronze (both great to use on their own as an eye brightener) & if you are looking for a pop of colour, there is ‘Overboard’ which is a vibrant pearl blue. I quite like to use cream shadows as an eyeliner & bright shades like this blue work well when applied along the lashline using a fine brush- RRP $45
The Summer Escape range also includes a Colour Gloss stick which works as a lip pencil & a lipstick, RRP $55 & a Colour define & highlight eye liner duo which is a dual ended pencil with a dark shade on one end & a highligher on the other (very handy!) RRP $45. There are also two gorgeous nail lacquers in shades of bright coral (Ahoy! 01) & intense blue (Sailor Girl 01) RRP $29.
Im also loving the limited edition Lash enhancing mascara in that classic 80′s shade of blue (Ocean Blue 03) A good tip for wearing coloured mascara is to apply your usual black shade first, then the colour over the top of that- you get better definition this way! This sunny summer collection is on counter now. Head to my Facebook makeup page to find out how you can win some of it…. Nx
