New from Bobbi Brown

The latest collection of colours by Bobbi Brown is called Telluride, one of Bobbis favorite destinations in the mountains of Colorado. The colours within this collection are inspired by the magnificent sunsets in Telluride & are designed to give your skin that special golden glow.

Whenever I teach makeup I always like to say that eyeshadow colours should blend together like a sunset. This comparison was particularly relevant in the 80′s when I was well known for blending together yellow, orange & pink shades to create a strikingly bright & beautiful eye makeup. The Telluride palette works just like a sunset, except the tones are extremely wearable & not as garishly bright as my glam 80′s eye!

The colours in the Telluride eye palette are, in my opinion, the best combo that Bobbi has ever released. As with all the makeup I review, I have been using the palette on my recent shoots, (on all sorts of different faces) & I have absolutely loved the results. The seven shades are all earthy, but very warm in tone, so they are ultimately very flattering on the skin. Bobbi’s palettes always contain a classic cream to use as a base colour & a rich dark smokey brown to create depth; add to that a lovely matte wood-rose, a velvety metallic plum & a soft antique rose. There is also a gorgeous browny-pink shimmer wash & my personal fave ‘Blazing Star Sparkle’ shadow, a perfect glittery beige-gold that adds instant glamour to natural makeup. The lighter shades all work beautifully as a stand alone colour, as just a simple brush of ‘antique rose’ (second from the right in the above photo) across the lid is enough to brighten up the eye. This palette retails for $135 & I think thats great value, particularly when you can pay up to $35 for one eye shadow!

Along with the palette the Telluride Collection also has a limited edition Shimmer Brick called ‘Sunset Pink’. Bobbis famous Shimmer Bricks are a multi tasking product as apart from being a gorgeous bronzer/blusher, they also work as a quick & easy eye shadow. Im also loving the new sunset lip trios, which include a tube of Bobbis sheer lip colour, a matching pencil & a gloss. Im currently using the ‘Sunset Pink’ combo (soft coral shades) but you can also get the more subtle ‘Twilight Glow’ & ‘Pink Dusk’ (the names say it all!)

Last but not least is the Pot Rouge, Bobbis bestselling -& once again multi tasking- cream blush in two new shades to give your cheeks that warm natural flush, the kind that happens when you are looking out to a beautiful sunset…  RRP- Sunset Pink Shimmer Brick $99  Lip Trio $105 Pot Rouge for lips & cheeks $52

  1. This latest collection sounds and looks amazing. It seems to me that the eyeshadow palette would be all one would need rather than the odds and ends that most of us have in our makeup bag.

  2. Thanks for your comment Anna, Palettes are way better value than single shadows plus they are a great way to keep your makeup kit organized. x
