Long-Wear liners from Bobbi
I am always on the lookout for new eye liner pencils & tend to collect them like felt tips! Three decades of makeup has taught me that the perfect pencil needs to be soft enough to draw a line easily, yet hard enough not to break. So many top brand pencils promise ease of use & longevity, but they are often hard, waxy, or simply ineffective. I recently bough a Marc Jacobs retractable pencil that literally crumbled when I used it… I threw it in the bin (sorry Marc!)
Bobbi Browns brand new Long-Wear waterproof liner ticks all the boxes when it comes to the perfect eye pencil. It promises to be deep in pigment & non smudging with maximum staying power- so I thought I would put it to the test.
I use black or dark brown eye pencil on just about every face I work on, as its the ultimate product to define the eye & add depth to the lash line which ultimately makes the lashes look longer. Last week I had a marathon day on set with the lovely Tammy Wells of ‘Briscoes Lady’ fame as I do all Tammys makeup, hair & wardrobe for her campaigns. I often need to retouch regularly during the course of the shoot & because Tammy is so smiley her eyeliner always runs! Well guess what… I experimented with Bobbis Long-Wear Waterproof Liner (in black) & it stayed put all day. No running or smudging & amazing depth of colour. The retractable pencil has a pointed nib for precision application & is super soft to use- making it easy to blend out the line with eye shadow. Because its waterproof it stays where it is, until you need to remove it, plus its gentle enough for the waterline.
This liner is my new favorite & I have added an ‘Evening Sky’ (navy) ‘Black Chocolate’ (brown) & ‘Rich Ivy’ (dark green) to my collection. There is a total of eight shades to choose from & they are all deep & opaque, so perfect to create that dark line which is the starting point of every smokey eye. Tammy ran out & bought herself a liner in ‘Blackout’ & is suitably impressed with how easily it glides on.
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof Liner is on counter from April the 10th. RRP $58.
Tammy & I together on location for Briscoes- her eye pencil is staying put! x
