New Season Goodies

After such a busy April I finally have found the time to sit down & tell you about some of the new seasons makeup & skincare products. I have had so many goodies arrive at my doorstep of late and never seem to lose my enthusiasm for a product that is exciting & new. Here are a few of my favorites that have found their way into my makeup kit.

Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss + Hydration

Cliniques range of ‘Pop’ makeup is always irresistibly packaged & this latest Lip Gloss comes in a chunky bullet shaped perspex & shiny chrome tube that reminds me of pop art (hence the name!) The gloss inside the funky tube has a weightless non-sticky formula that is water infused for lasting hydration. There are ten colours to choose from, ranging from red & pink through to violet & nude. Im loving ‘Pinot Pop’ (see pic) a gorgeous clear berry-pink, you can use it on its own or over lipstick to add a pop of colour to your makeup. Pop Splash Lip Gloss  is on counter now for $47

Elizabeth Arden Drama Defined Colour Collection

Several items from Lizzie Ardens latest Drama Defined range have already become staples in my makeup kit. The High Drama Eye liner pencil is soft & easy to use, with a longlasting waterproof formula. The dual ended applicator can create a precise line or smudged smokey look, plus its gentle to use on the waterline. Its comes in six different colours but every makeup bag needs ‘Espresso’ #2 (dark chocolate brown $48). I always have a pot of loose powder on hand when Im working, but lately all others have fallen by the wayside in favour of EA’s new High Performance Blurring Loose Powder.  I love the translucent shade- which is as light & sheer as you can get. Its fantastic to use over the top of a liquid foundation to cut back shine while leaving a super smooth natural finish. This power is so fine its almost invisible… love it! RRP $85 & you can buy an accompanying supersized kabuki brush for $55 (The gorgeous headline pic on this blog is from Elizabeth Arden)

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear weightless Foundation SPF15

Full coverage foundation has made a bit of a comeback with the younger generation… every noticed how much makeup young girls like to wear?! I generally say no lots of foundation as I hate a mask of makeup, however I am so pleased to have discovered Bobbi’s latest base which includes the best of both worlds; long wear full coverage with a natural look & weightless feel. The beauty of this new foundation is that you can use it as you so desire. It works beautifully as a full, flawless coverage- giving the skin a perfectly airbrushed finish & it can also be applied sparingly over the top of your moisturizer for a light & airy daytime look. I have used it for TV shoots & have seen it last all day with barely any need for a touch up. I have recommended it to several of my Air NZ crew friends who need a long lasting foundation- they tell me it feels fantastic on the skin while flying & never looks dry or cakey. The colour range is extensive from the palest alabaster through to the deepest brown. The bomb foundation! RRP$86

Revlon PhotoReady Makeup

If you have teenage daughters who love that air-brushed makeup look (& dont they all?!) but dont have the budget to spend a huge amount, then I highly recommend Revlons latest range which is cool, innovative & affordable. The new Photo Ready range includes the ‘Insta-filter’ foundation which creates a finish as smooth as your teens re-touched instagram pic… this base comes with an inbuilt blender to make application quick & easy. The Photo-Ready Colour correcting pens are ideal to disguise imperfections- lavender for dullness, green for redness & pinky-beige for dark spots, while the Prep, Set, Refresh mist can be used under your makeup as a primer or over the top as a setting spray. You can get all three products for under $100 at your nearest Revlon Counter
