The New Flawless Finish

Ok… so I have a brand new Website & this is my first brand new beauty blog! What better way to start than with a brand new foundation..

I have been doing makeup long enough to say that the first foundation I ever used was Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish. This iconic product had a very different look & feel way back in the 80’s… It came in a burgundy compact (adorned with a gold Arden signature) & contained a cake makeup like no other. Applied with a damp sponge you could achieve a sheer yet complete coverage, or alternatively you could create a perfect ‘mask’ of foundation which was the preferred look at the time. Over the years Flawless Finish has been updated many times, but its latest incarnation is by far the best & has impressed me the most….

The NEW Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation is a long-wear, natural foundation with a lightweight look & feel. Im a fan of easy to wear liquid foundations, but many that I try are either too light or way too heavy, creating a mask & blocking out your natural skin colour (my pet hate!) … This new base sits right in the middle with a buildable texture so you can use it sparingly for a light & dewy finish, or alternatively build it up for medium to full coverage. A foundation brush is my tool of choice when it comes to creating the perfect base, but your finger tips can do just as good a job & make application quick & easy.

The thing I love most about this new makeup is the colour range... all 40 shades!! Gone are the days of chalky tones that look pink or grey on olive skin… these shades swing towards the yellow tones which are universally more flattering. Theres still an alabaster for the really pale complexions & some fabulous deep hues that blend beautifully with darker skin. Its also super nourishing, containing healthy doses of Vitamins C & E, as well as moisturising Hyalularonic Acid. It comes in a pump bottle which I think is always economical (as you waste less) & a little goes a long way.

Accompanying this foundation is the new Flawless Finish Hydrating Serum Primer . I dont know what I used to do before primers were invented, as they really do help to smooth out lines & pores to create a perfect canvas. While prepping your face for makeup, this primer also works as a ‘skin plumping’ serum, so its like a two for one product. It has a super light weight texture & glides on like a dream.

These two products work together to create a long lasting, flawless finish…. highly recommended!

The new Flawless Finish foundation is on counter now for around $69.00 & the Serum Primer is $65
