Glow Time

The first pure mineral powder I ever used was one by jane iredale. I was back stage at NZ Fashion Week (2007… I think!?) & we were using jane iredale Pressed Mineral Base on a huge group of models with all different skin types. I still remember the wonder of seeing how one simple product could act as a foundation & powder, creating a beautiful, satiny base with the simple sweep of a brush! Since then Minerals have literally taken over the beauty world.

Over the years I have tried so many new products from this stunning brand & they are always natural, easy to use & most of all they are great for your skin. A few weeks ago the new jane iredale Glow Time Highlighter Sticks arrived on my desk so it was time to experiment. I have to say I have never been a huge fan of creme blush as I have often found it a bit dry & streaky- plus it can have a tendency to ‘drag’ on the skin. These new Glow Sticks have all the qualities I would expect to find in a highlighter if I were to design it myself… they are super soft & creamy in texture, easy to apply straight from the stick & best of all they blend seamlessly into the skin leaving a hint of natural colour & a sparkly glow.

Personally I love a product that can multitask especially if it means you can save time in front of the makeup mirror. These glow sticks can double as as eye shadow & triple as a shimmery lip balm- & you can do it all with your fingertips which makes it super quick & easy. You can also mix different shades & there are loads to choose from, ranging from warm bronzes through to light pearly golds & silvers. Im currently loving Aura which is a soft pinky brown & I have been mixing it with Eclipse which creates a classic gold sheen. They feel so soft & hydrating on your skin too as the main ingredient is Jojoba oil.

If you want to pump up the colour jane iredale also does Blush Sticks with the same formula & the two products work together like the dream team.
